As part of this year’s gala, Friends of the CMHR hosted an inaugural Youth Event, giving 200 youth the opportunity to also learn from Kimberly Davis, this year’s gala keynote speaker. Kimberly is a Senior Executive Vice-President with the National Hockey League.
She spoke with Kevin Chief from Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre about how being a fearless leader means persevering.
She also reminded the youth that they have the power to shape organizations, institutions and society itself. The event closed with a lively musical performance by Winnipeg band Indian City.
