In 2004, the Gandhi statue was gifted to Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (Friends) by the Government of India. The sculpture was created by renowned sculptor Mr. Ram Vanji Sutar.

The statue is located at The Forks near the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (the Museum) on a walking path between Israel Asper Way and Esplanade Riel.

A few years ago parts of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi were damaged.

Please help with repairs to and maintenance of this beloved statue through the Celebrating Gandhi fundraising event.
